I am extremely excited to be able finally to announce that I will be conducting the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra at a very special and unique concert in Malta - Stephen Schwartz: Defying Gravity - Live in Concert!

The legendary Academy Award® winning composer and lyricist Stephen Schwartz will be performing live and introducing his greatest hits from musicals including Wicked, Godspell, The Prince of Egypt, Pocohontas and The Hunchback of Notre Dame.

Stars from Broadway Matthew James Thomas, Keri Rene Fuller and Michael McCorry Rose will be joined by Maltese stars Ira Losco, Destiny and a special guest performance from the internationally acclaimed opera tenor Joseph Calleja.

The songs have been specially orchestrated for a full symphony orchestra, and I am honoured to be conducting them with the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra.

This is the most exciting concert of my life! The very first musical I was musical director for was Godspell in 1984, directed by Phil Santora. Phil went on to be the executive director of TheatreWorks Silicon Valley where he produced the world première of Stephen Schwartz’s The Prince of Egypt in 2017, which will be featured in this concert. So this evening will represent quite a personal journey for me!
